Sunggu Yang

Professor with a deep interest in homiletics, multicultural worship, and the aesthetics of theological storytelling, Sunggu Yang serves as an Associate Professor of Theology and Christian Ministries at George Fox University. Since joining the faculty in 2017, he has been instrumental in enriching the academic environment with his extensive knowledge and passion for theological education. Prior to his tenure at George Fox University, Professor Yang imparted his expertise at Wake Forest University and Emory University, where he was recognized for his innovative teaching methods and commitment to student development. In addition to his academic roles, Professor Yang is the founder and general editor of The Journal of Asian American Theological Forum, a platform that fosters scholarly dialogue and exploration of Asian American theological perspectives. His contributions to the field are further evidenced by his authorship of four influential books that delve into homiletics, theological aesthetics, and Asian American Christianity, offering fresh insights and perspectives that have been widely appreciated by scholars and practitioners alike.
