Dr. Tamara Tasker inspires the academic community to rethink the intersections of psychology, mindfulness, and athletic performance. Dr. Tasker completed her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in 2005, following her MS in Clinical Psychology from the same institution in 2002. Her academic journey began with a BA in English Literature from Colgate University in 1994, which laid the foundation for her interdisciplinary approach to psychology. A Licensed Psychologist in Oregon and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®, Dr. Tasker is deeply committed to advancing the fields of sport and performance psychology. Her clinical and research interests are diverse, encompassing mindfulness, college students, student athletes, and the exploration of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) factors in athletics. These interests reflect her dedication to fostering environments where individuals can thrive both mentally and physically. In her role at Pacific University, Dr. Tasker serves as the Adult Emphasis Director and Sport Psychologist for Pacific University Athletics. This position allows her to directly impact the well-being and performance of student athletes, integrating her expertise in psychology with her passion for sports. Her work in this capacity underscores her belief in the power of mental training and mindfulness to enhance athletic performance and personal growth. Dr. Tasker is also a dedicated educator, teaching courses such as First Year Seminar and Ethics & Professionalism.
