

Joe L. Alexander
A driving force in studies related to music theory and composition, Joe L. Alexander has made significant contributions to the field through his innovative teaching and research. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Composition in 1991, which laid the foundation for his distinguished career in music education and composition. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Music in Theory, Composition, and Low Brass at Louisiana Tech University. At Louisiana Tech University, Professor Alexander leads the Theory/Composition department and directs the Music Skills and Development Lab, where he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians and composers. His expertise in low brass instruments further enriches his teaching, allowing students to gain a comprehensive understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of music. Known for his dynamic approach to music education, Joe L. Alexander continues to inspire students and colleagues alike with his passion and dedication to the art of music.
