

Andrew Trachsel
Andrew Trachsel is a distinguished Professor of Wind Studies and serves as the Chair of the Division of Conducting and Ensembles at the University of North Texas. With a profound dedication to the art of conducting, he leads the Wind Orchestra and imparts his knowledge through courses in both graduate and undergraduate conducting, as well as wind band history and repertoire. His expertise and passion have led him to collaborate with and earn acclaim from numerous notable artists and composers, further enriching the musical landscape. Trachsel's commitment to innovation in music is evident through his efforts in commissioning numerous new works, thereby contributing to the expansion of the wind band repertoire. His advocacy for interdisciplinary programming is exemplified by the establishment of the Ampersand festival, a unique initiative designed to foster collaboration across various musical genres and disciplines.
