Professor Ashley Valanzola is focused on real-world applications of historical research, particularly in the realms of Holocaust studies, modern European history, and modern French history. As an Assistant Professor at Middle Tennessee State University, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to her students, drawing from her extensive academic background and research experience. Dr. Valanzola earned her PhD from George Washington University in 2021, where she honed her expertise in Holocaust studies. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 2010, followed by a Master of Arts from Norwich University in 2013. This diverse educational foundation allows her to approach historical events with a multifaceted perspective, enriching her teaching and research. Her research interests are deeply rooted in understanding the complexities of modern European history, with a particular focus on the Holocaust and modern French history.
