She earned her PhD from Western Michigan University in 2014, following her Bachelor of Science degree from Mohammed V University of Rabat in 2010. Dr. El Kadiri's academic journey has been marked by a profound dedication to understanding the complexities of our planet's water systems and the various natural hazards that impact them. Her research interests are diverse and interdisciplinary, encompassing Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Remote Sensing, GIS, Data Mining, and Natural Hazards. Dr. El Kadiri's work often involves the integration of advanced technologies and methodologies to better understand and predict environmental phenomena. Her contributions to the field are not only theoretical but also practical, as she seeks to apply her findings to real-world challenges. In her role at the Department of Geosciences, Dr. El Kadiri is committed to educating the next generation of scientists and environmental stewards. She teaches a variety of courses, including Hydrogeology, Environmental Geology, and Advanced Hydrogeology, providing students with both foundational knowledge and advanced insights into the dynamic processes that shape our environment. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, hands-on learning, and the application of scientific principles to solve complex environmental issues. Dr. El Kadiri is actively involved in research projects that aim to address pressing environmental concerns. Her work often involves collaboration with other experts in the field, as well as partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations. Through these collaborations, she strives to develop innovative solutions to mitigate the impacts of natural hazards and to promote sustainable management of water resources. Beyond her academic and research pursuits, Dr. El Kadiri is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. She encourages her students to engage in research and to pursue their own interests within the field of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Her office, located in the Davis Science Building, is a hub of activity where students and colleagues alike are welcomed to discuss ideas, seek guidance, and collaborate on projects. Dr. El Kadiri's contributions to the field of Earth and Environmental Sciences are widely recognized, and she continues to be a leading voice in the study of hydrological and geological processes. Her work not only advances scientific understanding but also has a tangible impact on the way we approach and manage environmental challenges.
