Jeff Cox
Innovating in the domain of music education, Jeff Cox serves as an Assistant Professor of Music at Trevecca Nazarene University. With a robust academic background, he holds a Bachelor of Music in commercial music and a Master of Arts in jazz studies. At Trevecca, he leads the commercial music division, imparting his extensive knowledge and passion for music to students. Cox is instrumental in the development of the university's commercial jazz ensembles, Fuze and Element, which he founded to provide students with practical, performance-based learning experiences. Cox's career as a musician is marked by his performances with esteemed artists and bands, including Earl Klugh, Nelson Rangell, and at Walt Disney World. His practical experience in the music industry enriches his teaching, offering students insights into the realities of being a working musician. His areas of expertise span commercial music ensembles, music history, music theory, guitar ensemble, and world music, making him a versatile educator and mentor. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Cox is actively pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in music education from William Carey University.
