Fagner Rocha

Dedicated to building bridges between disciplines in music education and performance, Dr. Fagner Rocha serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Orchestra at Angelo State University. With a profound passion for violin performance, Dr. Rocha embarked on his musical journey at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. His pursuit of excellence led him to Texas Tech University, where he completed both his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Violin Performance. Dr. Rocha's vibrant career is marked by his performances with numerous prestigious orchestras across the United States and Brazil. His collaborations include the Big Spring Symphony and Ballet San Angelo, where his artistry and dedication to music have left a lasting impact. As a conductor, he extends his influence beyond the university, directing the Concho Valley Youth Orchestra and leading various Honors, All-Region, and Youth Orchestras throughout Texas. In addition to his performance and conducting roles, Dr. Rocha is committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. His teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of technical skill and expressive artistry, encouraging students to explore the depths of their musical potential.
