

James Han
Dr. James Han leads initiatives in choral music as an Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Lamar University. With a distinguished academic background, he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Music from Westminster Choir College. Originally from South Korea, Dr. Han has an extensive career in conducting, having led a variety of choirs ranging from university groups to professional ensembles. Throughout his career, Dr. Han has had the privilege of performing internationally with some of the world's most esteemed orchestras. His work extends beyond the university setting, as he has collaborated with numerous high school and church choirs, bringing his expertise and passion for choral music to a wide audience. His dedication to the craft is evident in his active role as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. In addition to his responsibilities at Lamar University, Dr. Han serves as the chorus master for the Symphony of Southeast Texas. His leadership in this role underscores his commitment to fostering musical excellence and enriching the cultural landscape. Dr. Han's contributions to the field of choral music continue to inspire both his students and the broader community.
