Dr. Jacob Clark is a distinguished Associate Professor of Piano at Lamar University, where he has been imparting his extensive knowledge and passion for music since 2014. He earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts from The University of Texas at Austin, where he also completed his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in music. His academic journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a deep-seated love for the piano. Before his tenure at Lamar University, Dr. Clark enriched the musical communities at South Carolina State University, Northern Virginia Community College, and the Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C., through his faculty appointments. His teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in fostering a comprehensive understanding of music, encouraging students to explore both the technical and expressive aspects of piano performance. Dr. Clark's prowess as a pianist has been recognized through numerous awards, including accolades from the prestigious Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition and the Janice K.
