Dr. Tammy Jandrey Hertel is a distinguished Professor of Spanish and currently serves as the Chair of the Modern and Classical Languages Department at the University of Lynchburg. With a profound expertise in Spanish linguistics and language education, Dr. Hertel has dedicated her career to advancing the field of second language acquisition. Her scholarly interests are deeply rooted in foreign language methodology and the innovative use of documentary films as a tool for language teaching. Dr. Hertel's research contributions have been recognized in several prestigious academic journals, including the International Journal of the Sociology of Language and Foreign Language Annals. Her work often explores the intersections of language learning and cultural immersion, providing valuable insights into effective pedagogical strategies for language educators. Before her current role, Dr. Hertel has held various academic positions that have enriched her teaching and research experience.
