A champion for advancing diversity in healthcare education, Dr. Mike Cohen, DHSc, JD, PA-C, has been an integral part of the University of Lynchburg since 2016, where he serves as an adjunct professor in the Doctor of Medical Science Program. With a career spanning over three decades as a practicing Physician Assistant (PA), Dr. Cohen brings a wealth of practical experience and a deep commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments. Dr. Cohen's professional journey is marked by his dual roles in healthcare and law. He currently serves as a federal investigator for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a position that underscores his dedication to upholding the highest standards of healthcare practice and policy. His previous tenure at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Miami provided him with invaluable insights into the intersection of health law and medical practice, further enriching his teaching and research endeavors. Educationally, Dr. Cohen's background is as diverse as his professional experience. He completed his physician assistant training at George Washington University, laying the foundation for his clinical expertise. His academic pursuits continued with an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, followed by a law degree specializing in Health Law. Dr. Cohen further advanced his knowledge with a Doctor of Health Sciences in Leadership and Organizational Behavior from A.T.
