Ammar Alzarrad

Dr. Ammar Alzarrad is an advocate for innovation in civil and environmental engineering, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Marshall University. With a robust educational background, he holds dual bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering and Business Administration from the University of South Alabama. He further advanced his expertise by earning both a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Alabama. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Alzarrad gained significant industry experience as a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) manager in Chicago. In this role, he successfully managed multi-million dollar projects, honing his skills in project management and construction technology. His professional journey is marked by his PMP© certification, which underscores his commitment to excellence in project management. At Marshall University, Dr. Alzarrad is not only dedicated to teaching and mentoring students but also plays a pivotal role as the Director of The Engineering Management Graduate Program. His leadership in this capacity reflects his passion for integrating engineering principles with management strategies to prepare students for the challenges of the modern engineering landscape. Dr. Alzarrad's contributions to the field extend beyond the classroom, as he actively engages in research and development initiatives that aim to push the boundaries of traditional civil engineering practices.
