Aisulu Aitbekova

Developing insights into the future of sustainable energy solutions, Dr. Aisulu Aitbekova is a KNI Postdoctoral Fellow in the Atwater Group at the California Institute of Technology. Her pioneering research is focused on the conversion of carbon dioxide into valuable fuels and chemicals through the innovative use of nanomaterials. This work is crucial in addressing global challenges related to energy and environmental sustainability. Dr. Aitbekova earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, where she delved deeply into the mechanisms and applications of carbon dioxide conversion. Her academic journey also includes an M.S. in Chemical Engineering Practice from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she honed her practical skills and theoretical knowledge, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, where she laid the foundation for her future research endeavors. Beyond her research, Dr. Aitbekova is passionately committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
