

Akshaya Lakshmi Narsimhan
Akshaya Lakshmi Narsimhan is a distinguished scholar in the field of architecture, holding a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Her academic pursuits are deeply rooted in the exploration of Architectural Education, Postcolonial Theory, Decolonisation, South Asian Studies, and Critical Caste Studies. With a robust teaching portfolio, Narsimhan has imparted knowledge in various subjects, including Architectural Thesis, Architectural Design Studios, Contemporary Architecture, Sociology and Economics, and Research Methods. From 2017 to 2022, she served as an Assistant Professor at CMR University School of Architecture in Bengaluru, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the academic framework and mentoring students. Her commitment to education extended beyond CMR University, as she took on the role of Visiting Faculty at SJB School of Architecture and Planning, Bengaluru, from 2022 to 2023. During this period, she contributed to the Architectural Thesis and Architectural Design Studio courses, fostering a dynamic learning environment. In 2023, Narsimhan further expanded her teaching repertoire by joining the Urban Design Studio at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, Bengaluru. Her innovative approach to architectural education is reflected in her research endeavors, which have garnered significant recognition. Notably, her research paper, "Protagonists in Learning: Storytelling Practices in an Architecture School," was honored with a Commendation Award at the Indian Institute of Architects National Awards in 2021.
