Allison Thornton is an esteemed Adjunct Professor at Emory University School of Law, where she imparts her extensive knowledge and experience to students in both the Juris Master and Juris Doctor programs. Her academic journey began at Duke University, where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Public Policy Studies. She then pursued her legal education at the University of Georgia School of Law, earning her JD magna cum laude. During her time in law school, Allison distinguished herself as a member of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and the Moot Court Board. Her academic excellence was further recognized with her induction into The Order of the Coif and The Order of the Barristers. Following her graduation, Allison gained invaluable experience clerking for the Honorable Julie E. Carnes in the Northern District of Georgia. This role provided her with a profound understanding of the judicial process and honed her legal acumen. She subsequently practiced employment law in Atlanta, where she developed a robust expertise in navigating complex legal issues and advocating for clients. Allison's commitment to the legal profession is further exemplified by her role as Of Counsel to the Amicus Committee of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
