Rebecca J. McCauley

Professor contributing to the field of children's communication disorders, Dr. Rebecca J. McCauley is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at Ohio State University. With a distinguished career that spans several decades, Dr. McCauley has made significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of communication disorders in children, particularly focusing on speech sound disorders. Her academic journey began with a B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University, followed by an M.A. in Social Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Psychology: Cognition and Communication from the University of Chicago. At Ohio State University, Dr. McCauley has been instrumental in advancing research and education in her field. She is the director of the Children's Communications Laboratory, where she leads a team dedicated to exploring innovative assessment and treatment strategies for children with communication challenges. Her work in this area has been widely recognized for its impact on both clinical practices and theoretical understanding.
