Barry W. Johnson is the L.A. Lacy Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science. With a career spanning several decades, he has been an integral part of the faculty since 1984. Johnson's academic journey is deeply rooted in the University of Virginia, where he earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. His research is primarily centered on the safety and security of computer-based systems, with particular emphasis on cybersecurity, biometrics, the Internet of Things, and autonomous systems.
