Mehdi Shadaram, Ph.D., is a distinguished figure in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, serving as the Janey and Dolph Briscoe Distinguished Professor and the Undergraduate Advisor of Record at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, where he laid the foundation for his prolific career in academia and research. Dr. Shadaram's research interests are deeply rooted in broadband analog, digital fiber optic, and wireless communication systems. His work in these areas has led to the publication of over 130 scholarly articles, contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge and technology in these fields. His research endeavors have been supported by more than $10 million in funding from a variety of esteemed organizations, underscoring the impact and importance of his work. Throughout his career, Dr. Shadaram has taken on numerous leadership roles within the university. Notably, he served as the Interim Dean of Engineering, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the future of engineering education at the institution. He was also the Founding Director of the Center for Excellence in Engineering Education Research, a testament to his commitment to enhancing educational practices and outcomes.
