His expertise has been instrumental in shaping significant studies, including his role as the principal statistician for the Heart and Estrogen/Progestin Replacement Study (HERS). Dr. Vittinghoff's career is marked by his extensive involvement in HIV research at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where he has contributed to pivotal studies that have informed public health policies and interventions.
