Ted Geltner
Dr. Ted Geltner is a distinguished Professor of English at Valdosta State University, where he plays a pivotal role as the Spectator Adviser. With a robust academic background, Dr. Geltner earned his Ph.D. in Journalism from the University of Florida. He also holds a Master's degree in Journalism from the same institution and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Lehigh University. His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding and exploring the nuances of journalism and political science. Dr. Geltner is eagerly anticipating the release of his forthcoming book, "Blood, Bone and Marrow: A Biography of Harry Crews, and Sport in Los Angeles," which is scheduled for publication in 2016. This work promises to offer insightful perspectives into the life of Harry Crews, a notable figure in American literature, as well as delve into the vibrant sports culture of Los Angeles. His scholarly pursuits are deeply rooted in his research interests, which focus on Sports History and American Journalism. At Valdosta State University, Dr. Geltner is actively engaged in teaching an Introduction to Sports Journalism course, where he shares his extensive knowledge and passion for the subject with his students.
