Debabrata Dey, affectionately known as Deb, is a distinguished academic and leader in the field of information systems and artificial intelligence. He currently serves as the Davis Area Director of Analytics, Information, and Operations Management at the School of Business at the University of Kansas. In addition, he holds the prestigious Ronald G. Harper Professorship in Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems. His academic journey began with a solid foundation in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, followed by further studies at Syracuse University. He then transitioned into the realm of computers and information systems, earning both his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. Before joining the University of Kansas, Deb made significant contributions to the University of Washington Foster School of Business. There, he was not only a professor but also took on leadership roles as the department chair and the Founding Faculty Director of the Master's in Information Systems program. His tenure at the University of Washington was marked by a commitment to advancing the field of information systems and nurturing the next generation of leaders in this domain.
