Ali Yousefi

Ali Yousefi is an esteemed Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he is recognized for his innovative contributions to the field of neuroscience data analysis. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California, where his research laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in computational and statistical neuroscience. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Yousefi pursued postdoctoral research at the Mayo Clinic, focusing on Computational Neuroscience. His academic journey continued with further postdoctoral research in Statistical Neuroscience at both Harvard Medical School and Boston University. These experiences have equipped him with a robust foundation in interdisciplinary research, enabling him to tackle complex problems at the intersection of neuroscience and computer science. Dr. Yousefi's research is centered on developing methodological solutions that enhance our understanding of neural systems. His work is particularly focused on creating statistical frameworks that link neural activity to biological and behavioral signals. By applying these frameworks, he aims to model neural activity more accurately and characterize neural ensembles, providing deeper insights into the functioning of the brain.
