
Lauren Shallish
Dr. Lauren Shallish is an esteemed Associate Professor of Disability Studies in Education at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Her academic pursuits are deeply rooted in critical disability studies, with a particular emphasis on the complexities of labeling and the development of inclusive pedagogies. Dr. Shallish's research is pivotal in understanding the experiences of multiply-minoritized students, as she critically examines how ability and dis/ability are framed within the context of higher education equity initiatives. With a robust background that spans both higher education and urban K-12 educational settings, Dr. Shallish brings a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge to her work.
