Exploring the intersection of art, technology, and education, Jeff Thompson serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology. With a robust academic background, Jeff earned his MFA in Sculpture and New Media from Rutgers University and a BFA in Painting and Sculpture from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. His academic journey has been marked by a profound commitment to integrating creative programming, ceramics, digital fabrication, and sculpture into his research and teaching. Jeff's research interests are as diverse as they are innovative, encompassing creative programming, sculpture, ceramics, digital fabrication, physical computing, and algorithmic design. His work has been recognized through various honors and awards, underscoring his contributions to both the academic and artistic communities. Jeff's creative endeavors have been showcased in numerous exhibitions and residencies, reflecting his dedication to pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms through the use of technology. In addition to his research and creative work, Jeff is deeply committed to institutional service. He currently chairs the HASS Promotion and Tenure Committee, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape at Stevens Institute of Technology.
