Dr. Hao Tang is a distinguished Professor of Computer Information Systems at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), where he leverages his extensive expertise in computer science to advance the field of augmented and accessible learning. Holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Dr. Tang is deeply committed to enhancing educational experiences for individuals with special needs, with a particular focus on those who are blind, have low vision, or are on the Autism Spectrum. His research is at the forefront of integrating technology into learning environments, aiming to make education more inclusive and effective. In his state-of-the-art laboratory, Dr. Tang leads pioneering research in virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and geospatial information science. His work is characterized by a strong emphasis on practical applications, seeking to develop tools and technologies that can be directly applied to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.
