

Kafuli Agbemenu
Kafuli Agbemenu, PhD, MPH, RN, CTN-A, serves as an Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo School of Nursing. A proud alumna of the same institution, she has built a distinguished career in nursing education and research. Her academic journey includes an MPH with a specialization in behavioral and community health science and global health, alongside an MS and PhD in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Agbemenu's research is deeply rooted in improving reproductive health outcomes for African immigrant and refugee women. Her work is characterized by a focus on culturally-congruent family planning education and contraceptive decision-making. She is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities, including pregnancy outcomes, HIV stigma reduction, and access to reproductive health care services. In recognition of her impactful research, Dr. Agbemenu was honored as one of the inaugural recipients of the Changemakers in Family Planning grant awards by the Society of Family Planning in 2019. This accolade underscores her commitment to advancing family planning and reproductive health through innovative and culturally sensitive approaches. Beyond her research, Dr. Agbemenu is a passionate advocate for cultural competency in healthcare.
