

Christine Linkie
Christine Linkie, MS, PhD, OTR/L, CPRP, is a dedicated Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science at the University at Buffalo. Since joining the faculty in the spring of 2021, she has been an integral part of the academic community, bringing her extensive experience and passion for teaching to the forefront. Prior to her current role, she served as adjunct faculty at Gannon University, where she honed her skills in delivering engaging and impactful education. Linkie's academic and professional journey is deeply rooted in her diverse background as a senior occupational therapist and program director. Her experience spans various settings, including public schools, community-based psychiatric rehabilitation, early intervention, sensory integration, and outpatient clinics. This rich tapestry of experiences informs her teaching, allowing her to provide students with real-world insights and practical knowledge. Her teaching philosophy is centered around transformational learning, with a strong emphasis on helping students develop empathy, critical thinking, and professional identities. Linkie is committed to fostering an environment where students are encouraged to explore and challenge their understanding of mental health, occupational science, and activity analysis. She believes that education should not only impart knowledge but also inspire students to become compassionate and competent professionals. At the University at Buffalo, Linkie teaches a variety of courses, including those focused on mental health, neurological and cognitive conditions, home-based occupational therapy, community-based fieldwork, and research guidance. Her approach to teaching is dynamic and student-centered, aiming to equip future occupational therapists with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their careers. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Linkie is actively engaged in research, with a particular interest in enhancing occupational performance in individuals with schizophrenia.
