Hillary Packer investigates challenges and opportunities in legal education, restorative justice, and alternatives to incarceration. As an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cardozo Law, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students, fostering a deep understanding of the legal system and its potential for reform. In her role as the associate director of restorative practices at the Center for Justice Innovation, Hillary is dedicated to implementing restorative justice practices that offer meaningful alternatives to traditional punitive measures. Her work is centered on advocating for systemic change within the criminal legal system, focusing on reducing reliance on incarceration and promoting healing and reconciliation. Hillary's expertise as a licensed attorney and certified mediator is complemented by her practical experience serving on New York City’s Family Court Custody and Visitation Mediation Panel, where she has facilitated resolutions in complex family disputes. Hillary's academic journey began at the CUNY School of Law, where she earned her J.D., reflecting her lifelong commitment to legal education and social justice. Her research interests are deeply rooted in exploring innovative approaches to justice that prioritize community well-being and individual dignity.
