Glen Almond

Dr. Glen Almond leads impactful research in the field of Swine Health and Production Management at North Carolina State University. Since joining the faculty in 1987, he has been a cornerstone of the university's Animal Science department. Dr. Almond earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Ontario Veterinary College, which laid the foundation for his extensive work in reproductive physiology, urogenital disease, and the interactions between disease and growth in pigs. His research has significantly advanced the understanding of these areas, with recent projects focusing on the efficacy of water medications in pig production and the effects of stress on pig immunity.
