Committed to mentoring the next generation in the field of information sciences, Scot Smith serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. With a robust academic background, Scot holds a Master of Science in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee, alongside a Master of Arts in Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from East Tennessee State University. Scot's professional interests are diverse and deeply rooted in literature and education. He is particularly passionate about Children's and Young Adult Literature, exploring the rich narratives and themes that resonate with younger audiences. His research extends to Literature about the Disability Experience, where he examines how stories can reflect and influence societal perceptions of disability. In addition to his literary pursuits, Scot is dedicated to enhancing the role of School Libraries and Youth Services, recognizing their critical impact on educational development and community engagement.
