Dr. Malik Rakhmanov is laying the groundwork for future advancements in the field of gravitational-wave detection and general relativity. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Dr. Rakhmanov brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the prestigious California Institute of Technology, following a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Moscow State University, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career. Dr. Rakhmanov's research interests are diverse and cutting-edge, encompassing gravitational-wave detection, general relativity, optics, interferometry, and the statistical analysis of data. His recent work is particularly focused on silicon nanophotonics, where he explores the properties of on-chip silicon waveguides and micro-ring resonators. This research is conducted in collaboration with Rice University, highlighting his commitment to interdisciplinary and collaborative scientific endeavors. In addition to his research, Dr. Rakhmanov is dedicated to education and mentorship. He teaches a course on Computational Methods for Engineers and Physicists, where he is known for his engaging teaching style and ability to inspire students.
