Dr. Mikyung Shin is the esteemed Bill Piehl Professor of Education and serves as an Assistant Professor of Special Education at West Texas A&M University. Since joining the College of Education and Social Sciences in 2019, Dr. Shin has been dedicated to advancing the field of special education through her teaching and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Special Education, which underpins her comprehensive understanding and innovative approach to the discipline. In her role at the university, Dr. Shin focuses on preparing future educators through courses in Special Education Teacher Preparation and Educational Diagnostician programs. Her expertise spans a range of critical areas, including learning and behavior disorders, assistive technology, and the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
