Reece Richardson

Reece Richardson embarked on her academic journey at Weber State University at the tender age of 17, driven by a profound aspiration to become a radiation therapist dedicated to treating cancer patients. Her fascination with the field of radiology was ignited following a sports injury, which necessitated the use of X-rays and MRI scans. This personal experience not only introduced her to the intricacies of medical imaging but also fueled her desire to delve deeper into the world of radiologic sciences. Despite facing initial academic hurdles, Richardson's potential did not go unnoticed by her professors. Their encouragement and belief in her abilities played a pivotal role in her academic development, leading to her nomination as a supplemental instructor. This role allowed her to assist her peers while reinforcing her own understanding of complex radiologic concepts. Currently, Richardson is actively participating in a cross-training program at McKay Dee Hospital, where she is gaining invaluable hands-on experience with CT scans and X-rays. This practical exposure is complementing her academic pursuits and providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the technologies she will utilize in her future career. As she approaches the completion of her associate's degree in radiologic sciences, Richardson is already setting her sights on furthering her education. She plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in radiation therapy, a step that will bring her closer to her goal of becoming a skilled and compassionate radiation therapist. Richardson holds Weber State University in high regard, particularly for its supportive and nurturing environment. She appreciates the institution's commitment to helping students achieve their full potential, a factor she credits for her own academic and personal growth. Her journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, mentorship, and the pursuit of one's passions.
