Jan Rychtář
Dr. Jan Rychtář spearheads initiatives to address complex problems in mathematical biology and game theory at Virginia Commonwealth University. With a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta obtained in 2004, Dr. Rychtář has established himself as a leading figure in his field. Before joining VCU in the Fall of 2019, he served as a Professor at UNC Greensboro, where he honed his expertise and expanded his research portfolio. Dr. Rychtář's research interests lie at the intersection of game theory and mathematical biology, where he applies mathematical models to understand biological phenomena. His work is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach, bridging the gap between theoretical mathematics and practical biological applications. He has co-authored the influential book "Game-theoretical Models in Biology," which has been widely recognized in academic circles for its innovative insights. Throughout his career, Dr. Rychtář has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge in his areas of interest. His research not only enhances the understanding of biological systems but also provides valuable frameworks for addressing real-world challenges. At VCU, he continues to inspire students and colleagues alike with his dedication to research and education in mathematical sciences.
