Kevin Dunayer is an esteemed Associate Professor in the School of Theater at George Mason University, where he imparts his vast knowledge and expertise in Sound Design and Event Production. Holding an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Professor Dunayer has cultivated a rich academic and professional background that informs his teaching and research. Throughout his career, Professor Dunayer has contributed to over 300 productions nationwide, showcasing his exceptional skills in sound design. His work has not gone unnoticed, earning him accolades such as the 2009 Denver Post Ovation Award and the 2010 Daily Camera Award. These honors reflect his commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of sound design. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Professor Dunayer has been the Resident Sound Designer at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival for an impressive 24 years. This long-standing role highlights his dedication and passion for theatrical sound design, as well as his ability to consistently deliver high-quality work. Beyond the theater, Professor Dunayer has amassed significant experience in sound engineering and event production. His portfolio includes involvement in prestigious events such as the NBA and NFL Drafts, the 2004 Republican Convention, and President Clinton's 50th Birthday celebration. These experiences have equipped him with a unique perspective on the intersection of sound design and large-scale event production. Professor Dunayer's research interests lie at the confluence of sound design, sound engineering, and event production.
