Mohanad Elfishawi

Dr. Mohanad Elfishawi has a longstanding interest in the field of Rheumatic & Autoimmune Diseases, with a particular focus on vasculitis and aortitis. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical School, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. Dr. Elfishawi began his medical journey at the Kasr-Alainy School of Medicine, Cairo University, where he earned his MBBCh and MS degrees. His commitment to advancing his expertise led him to complete an internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Further honing his specialization, Dr. Elfishawi pursued fellowships at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, where he concentrated on vasculitis. His dedication and contributions to the field have been recognized with honors such as The Howard Polley Award. Dr. Elfishawi's clinical and research interests are diverse, encompassing vasculitis, aortitis, gout, IgG4-related disease, and the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided procedures. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Elfishawi is deeply committed to education and mentorship. He actively participates in educational initiatives, providing lectures on vasculitis for fellows and residents, thereby fostering the next generation of medical professionals. His passion for teaching and research ensures that he remains at the forefront of developments in his field.
