Michael Young

Professor Michael Young is making strides in research on reading education, special education, and elementary education. As an Assistant Professor at the College of Education and Human Service Professions at the University of Minnesota Duluth, he plays a pivotal role as the IESE Program Coordinator and serves as the Associate Department Head. His academic journey is marked by a PhD in Teaching and Learning from the University of Iowa, an MAEd in Reading Education from Mount Mercy University, and a BA in Elementary Education and Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa. Professor Young's expertise lies in the Integrated Elementary and Special Education program, where he is committed to advancing educational practices that cater to diverse learning needs. His research interests focus on developing innovative strategies to enhance reading education and support students with special needs, ensuring that all children have access to quality education. Throughout his career, Professor Young has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students and educators alike.
