Sports
Ball State University offers a wide variety of sports for students to participate in, including:
- Men's sports: baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and wrestling
- Women's sports: basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and volleyball
In addition to varsity sports, Ball State also offers a variety of intramural sports for students to participate in. These sports include basketball, flag football, soccer, softball, and volleyball.
Ball State's athletic teams compete in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The men's basketball team has won the MAC Tournament championship four times, and the women's basketball team has won the MAC Tournament championship three times. The football team has won the MAC Championship twice.
Ball State's athletic facilities include the Scheumann Stadium, which seats 20,000 fans for football games; the Worthen Arena, which seats 10,000 fans for basketball games; and the Muncie Aquatic Center, which has a 50-meter pool and a diving well.
Ball State's sports teams are a source of pride for the university and the community. They provide students with an opportunity to compete at a high level, and they bring excitement to the campus and the city.
