History
Kent State University at East Liverpool was founded in 1946 as a branch of Kent State University. The campus originally offered only two-year degrees, but began offering four-year degrees in 1965. In 1972, the campus was renamed Kent State University at East Liverpool.
The campus consists of two buildings in downtown East Liverpool; John J. Purinton Hall and the Mary Patterson Building. John J. Purinton Hall was built in 1946 and houses the majority of the campus's classrooms and offices. The Mary Patterson Building was built in 1965 and houses the campus's library and student services.
