Sports

The University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) offers a variety of sports for students to participate in. The school is a member of the NCAA Division II and competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). UMSL has 16 varsity sports teams, including men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track and field, cross country, golf, and swimming and diving. The school also has a club ice hockey team.

UMSL's athletic teams have won numerous conference championships and have made several appearances in the NCAA tournament. The men's basketball team has won the GLVC regular season championship 11 times and the tournament championship 10 times. The women's basketball team has won the GLVC regular season championship 10 times and the tournament championship 11 times. The baseball team has won the GLVC regular season championship 10 times and the tournament championship 11 times. The softball team has won the GLVC regular season championship 10 times and the tournament championship 11 times.

UMSL's athletic teams are supported by a passionate fan base. The school's home athletic facilities, the Chaifetz Arena and the O'Reilly Field at U.S. Cellular Field, are both regularly filled to capacity for games.

In addition to varsity sports, UMSL also offers a variety of intramural sports for students to participate in. Intramural sports are a great way for students to stay active and meet new people. UMSL offers intramural sports in a variety of different sports, including basketball, softball, soccer, volleyball, and flag football.
