Dr. Hang Yu is driving progress in the field of materials science and engineering as an Associate Professor at Virginia Tech. With a robust academic foundation, he earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013, following a Bachelor of Science degree from Peking University in 2007. His scholarly pursuits are deeply rooted in the realms of additive manufacturing, materials processing, and the mechanical behavior of materials. At the helm of the Yu Research Group, Dr. Yu leads pioneering investigations into the intricate process-microstructure-fatigue linkage, a critical area that bridges the gap between theoretical research and practical applications.
