

Lori Curtis
Recognized as a leader in social work education, Lori Curtis serves as a Teaching Professor at the University of MissouriâSt. Louis (UMSL) School of Social Work, where she has been an integral part of the faculty since 1999. With a robust academic background, Lori holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York - College at Geneseo. Her academic journey has equipped her with a profound understanding of diversity and social justice, violence against women, LGBT issues, feminist social work, and crisis intervention, all of which she passionately integrates into her teaching. In her role as the BSW Advising Coordinator, Lori Curtis is dedicated to providing comprehensive guidance to Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and pre-social work students, helping them navigate their academic and professional paths. Her commitment to student success is evident in her personalized approach to advising, ensuring that each student receives the support and resources they need to thrive in their studies and future careers. Beyond her responsibilities in advising, Lori coordinates the School's outreach program, which includes offering completion programs at Mineral Area College.
