

Deborah Baldini
Deborah Baldini investigates challenges and opportunities in the realms of Spanish Peninsular Literature and the Spanish Civil War, alongside her dedication to advancing Foreign Language Teaching Methodologies and Second Language Acquisition. As a Teaching Professor of Spanish and Associate Dean for the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her roles. Dr. Baldini holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, an MA in Spanish Language and Literature, and a BA cum laude in Spanish Language and Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. Her academic journey has been marked by a deep commitment to understanding the intricacies of language learning and the cultural narratives embedded within Spanish literature. Since 1980, she has been a pivotal member of the faculty at UMSL, where she has taught Spanish with a focus on Spanish Peninsular Literature and the Literature of the Spanish Civil War. Her courses are known for their rigorous exploration of historical and cultural contexts, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. In her capacity as Associate Dean, Dr. Baldini is instrumental in leading the development, planning, and evaluation of innovative programs designed to meet the diverse needs of the student population.
