Dr. Benjamin Torbert is a distinguished academic serving as an Associate Professor and Associate Department Chair in the English Department at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL). In addition to these roles, he is the Graduate Program Director, where he oversees the development and administration of graduate studies within the department. Dr. Torbert's academic journey began with a BA in Classical Languages from Duke University, followed by an MA in English with a Linguistics concentration from North Carolina State University. He later returned to Duke University to earn his PhD in English, specializing in Linguistics.
