Professor with expertise in civil litigation and immigration law, Joseph Marutollo is an esteemed Adjunct Professor at Pace Law School. Currently, he serves as the Chief of the Civil Division for the U.S. Attorneyâs Office in the Eastern District of New York, where he oversees a wide range of civil cases, ensuring justice and legal integrity in the region. Marutollo's career is marked by significant leadership roles within the U.S. Attorneyâs Office. He has held positions such as Chief of the Immigration Litigation Unit, Deputy Chief, and Principal Deputy Chief of the Civil Division, as well as Acting Chief of the Civil Division. These roles have equipped him with a deep understanding of the complexities of immigration law and civil litigation, making him a valuable resource for both his students and colleagues. Before his tenure at the U.S. Attorneyâs Office, Marutollo honed his legal skills as an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Law Department.
