Kwok-Bun Yue

Kwok-Bun Yue is a distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Computer Information Systems at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. With an academic foundation in physics, he earned his B.S. and M.Phil. degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His passion for computer science led him to the University of North Texas, where he obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in the field. Professor Yue's research spans several critical areas, including concurrent programming, Internet computing, semi-structured data, information systems, and computer science education. His scholarly contributions are substantial, with over 40 published papers that have significantly impacted these domains. His research endeavors have been supported by 10 external grants, amassing a total of $1.8 million, underscoring his role as a principal investigator and a leader in his field. Throughout his career, Yue has been recognized for his exceptional teaching and contributions to academia. He has been honored with the UHCL Distinguished Teaching Award, the UHCL Piper Award, the UHCL Alumni Association Outstanding Professor Award, and the UHCL Fellowship. These accolades reflect his dedication to fostering a rich learning environment and his commitment to student success. In addition to his teaching and research, Professor Yue has held several key administrative positions. He has served as the chair of the Division of Computer and Mathematics, as well as the Computer Science and Computer Information Systems programs.
