Lauren Kussro

Dr. Lauren Kussro is transforming the field of art and design through her innovative approach to printmaking and her dedication to education. As an Associate Professor of Art and Design at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students, guiding them in both beginning and advanced printmaking as well as drawing foundations. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and printmaking from the Herron School of Art & Design, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in printmaking from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Dr. Kussro's artistic work has garnered attention on both national and international stages, showcasing her unique ability to blend printmaking, sculpture, and sewing into cohesive and thought-provoking pieces. Her creative process is deeply rooted in playful investigations of the natural world, which she translates into her art through a variety of mediums. This exploration not only enriches her own practice but also inspires her students to push the boundaries of their creativity.
