Sherine O. Obare is a distinguished academic leader and researcher, currently serving as the Dean and Professor of Nanoscience at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN). With a profound dedication to advancing the field of nanoscience, Dr. Obare has developed a robust research program that explores the potential of nanoscale materials across a spectrum of applications, including drug delivery, environmental remediation, healthcare, and energy. Her innovative work in these areas has garnered significant recognition, including prestigious awards such as the NSF CAREER award, the Mary McLeod Bethune Award, and the NSF American Competitiveness and Innovation Fellowship. Dr. Obare's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from West Virginia State University, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors in scientific research. She further honed her expertise by pursuing a Ph.D. in Inorganic/Analytical Chemistry at the University of South Carolina.
