Stephanie Ycaza

Stephanie Ycaza is an esteemed Assistant Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), where she brings her extensive expertise and passion for music education to her students. With a rich academic background, Ycaza has earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Shenandoah University, a Master of Music degree and an Artist Diploma from Yale University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her academic journey reflects her dedication to mastering her craft and contributing to the field of music. In addition to her academic roles, Ycaza is a founding member of Calypsus Brass, a brass quintet that is committed to performing and promoting the works of composers from marginalized groups. Ycaza also holds the position of Principal Tuba with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, where her performances are celebrated for their depth and musicality.
